FOOT REFLEXOLOGY

60min: £ 30

Foot reflexology is a reflexology treatment which is given through the feet and the lower legs. Pressure points on the feet and lower legs are stimulated using the application of gentle pressure using a range of finger and thumb techniques.

Hand REFLEXOLOGY

30min: £ 20

Hand reflexology is a reflexology treatment given through the hands and lower arms. Pressure points on the hands and lower arms are stimulated using a gentle hand massage which focuses on the specific pressure points found on the hands. This type of reflexology I have found to be particularly relaxing.

Ear REFLEXOLOGY

30min: £ 25

Ear reflexology (also known as auricular reflexology) is a reflexology treatment given through the ears. The ears are worked using a gentle finger and thumb massage technique; slowly but simultaneously as there are over 100 pressure points on each ear!

FERTILITY REFLEXOLOGY

60min: £ 30

Having a family is one of the most wonderful experiences in life but the journey trying to achieve this can be a very stressful one. Reflexology treatments during this time can help greatly to reduce stress levels and balance the body and the emotions. Fertility reflexology is a very specialised modality and uses specific techniques and protocols to try to address any fertility issues.

I am happy to treat both men and women at any stage of their fertility planning whether it is to enhance their general health before trying for a baby, or because they are experiencing conception difficulties or whether they are undergoing fertility treatment such as IVF, IUI, ICSI with conventional medical practitioners; in this instance I work to enhance the medications and boost the chances of success.

It is important to have a detailed consultation on both the female and male fertility history and if possible to have the initial consultation with both partners present. You will need a longer appointment for this.

Although specific protocols are used it is also necessary to look at lifestyle and diet and possibly make some changes there as well. Menstrual cycle charting and medical testing will be discussed at the initial appointment and are used to measure changes.

NEPIP (NEUROENDOPSYCHOIMMUNOPODY)

60min: £ 30

  • Neurology – the study of the Nervous System
  • Endocrinology – the study of the Endocrine System
  • Psychology – the study of the mind and behavior (in Greek the word psyche means spirit or soul)
  • Immunology – the study of the Immune System
  • Pody – means feet in Greek.

In summary the theory behind NEPIP is that each bodily system affects the other and by flowing from one system to another we help the body to `speak`, and more importantly to `listen` to itself. This is a truly amazing and unique reflexology treatment for accessing the immune system, nervous system, endocrine system and the limbic system. It also incorporates the HPA Axis (the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis), which plays a vital role in controlling the body`s reactions to stress.

This is a relatively new concept and I was fortunate to be one of the first students to study this practice under the tuition of Allison Walker of Contemporary Reflexology College. Subjectively, this is proving to be very effective at stress management and a useful tool for not only tackling high stress levels but also reducing the impact of persistent stress on our bodies.

Taster Session

30min: £ 15

This includes a 5 minute consultation and 25 minute foot reflexology taster treatment. This can be useful to see if you would like reflexology, used for specific conditions or just a quick `pick me-up`.

Indian Head Massage

Price: £ 30/-

Indian Head Massage is based upon ancient Indian aryuvedic techniques and is deeply relaxing and invigorating. It is the ideal treatment for anyone who suffers with tension headaches, stiff and aching shoulders, eyestrain and general stress and anxiety.

The Practitioner uses different massage techniques and accupressure points on the back, shoulders, neck, head and face to relieve pain and tension, encourage circulation and oxygen flow to the brain.

The treatment ends with a relaxing facial massage and re-balancing of energy-flow in the upper body (`chakra-balancing`).

A treatment is performed with the client sitting up and can be performed clothed or on skin using oils. A treatment session lasts around 45 minutes

Treatment Benefits

  • Reduced pain and tension in the muscles of the upper body
  • Increased circulation resulting in mental clarity and improved alertness
  • Relieves eye strain
  • Relieves stress, tension and fatigue
  • Aids detoxification
  • Aids lymphatic drainage
  • Increases endorphin levels
  • Last but not least – stimulation to the scalp encourages growth of healthy, shiny hair!

Hopi Ear Candling

60min: £ 40

Hopi Ear Candling is a non-invasive treatment providing an effective way of treating ear, nose and throat conditions. It involves inserting a hopi ear candle into the opening of the ear with you laying on your side on a treatment couch supported by pillows. Hopi Ear Candle or (also known as Thermo-Auricular Therapy) are hollow tubes made of cotton, soaked in beeswax, honey and herbs. When lit, the candle acts like a chimney, causing the warm air inside it to rise and creating a vacuum at the bottom. This vacuum gently stimulates the ear, facilitating removal of excess wax and impurities.

I use genuine Hopi Ear Candles which are premium quality, Pesticide Free, unbleached woven cotton with pure beeswax and are 100% Organic. They are free from paraffin and other synthetic ingredients. The candles are filtered to prevent any back-flow returning to the ear candle.

You will experience a pleasant crackling sound as the candle burns and a warm comfortable feeling. When the ear candling is complete a waxy substance is normally left inside the base of the candle. After the ear candling has been performed on both ears you will lie on your back so a facial drainage massage can help promote drainage of fluids, reduce tension in the sinuses and temples. Improve circulation of blood and nutrients. Reduce eye bags and dark circles. It also can help reduce swelling and will help enhance the positive effects of the ear candling.

Many of my clients experience a variety of benefits from Hopi Ear Candling that have included:

  • Helped to relieve sinusitis, rhinitis, glue-ear, tinnitus, hay fever, catarrh, asthma, colds, flu, headaches, vertigo, swimmer ears, flying and diving pressure problems.
  • Promoted relaxation and had a calming effect
  • Helped to improve muffled hearing.
  • Reduced Congestion
  • Helped to ease cold.
  • Opened up nasal breathing.
  • Reduced snoring.
  • Eased ear pain experienced when flying/diving.
  • Encouraged gentle removal of excessive or compacted ear wax.

Top to Toe Package

120min: £ 60

This includes a 20 minute consultation (for new clients only), a 45 minute Indian head massage and 45 minute foot reflexology treatment. The indian head massage involves massage of the back, neck, arms and head and can be done with or without oils. The foot reflexology treatment also includes a massage of the lower legs.

for Athletes – Sports Injury

Sports Reflexology: £ 30

Whether you’re a pro-athlete, semi-pro, or participate in a sporting activity to keep fit and healthy, incorporating reflexology into your fitness regime can be hugely beneficial.

What Reflexology can do for you
Reflexology can bring about a positive effect to an Athletes overall physical health, performance and emotional wellbeing, by helping you to relax and recover faster from injuries and surgeries.

Reflexology helps to encourage lymphatic drainage. According to research at Bonash University, Australia, Reflexology can remove lactic acid from the legs four times faster than massage, a helpful relief from tightness in the legs.

Reflexology can help to increase blood circulation to an injured area of the body, removing toxins and bringing in oxygen, nutrients, minerals, enzymes and hormones, while also removing toxins and waste products (generated by extended muscle exertion). Helping to support the body’s natural ability to heal itself, and promote faster recovery from injuries. Since the blood stream is responsible for supplying the muscles with nutrients and oxygen, increased circulation can assist in preventing cramps, spasms, aches and pains associated with extended exercise.

Reflexology can help to reduce pain, such as knee pain or foot pain caused by plantar fasciitis , neuroma or tendonitis. These conditions can be addressed by surgery, but as more athletes want to avoid drugs and reduce the time off due to surgery, Reflexology becomes a valuable tool. Reflexology also helps for sports that stress the shoulders, arms, and hands such as golf or tennis, treatments help to address issues such as tennis elbow and forearm pain.

If you have an injury to an area of the foot which is too painful to work directly, a Reflexologist can work on your hand instead as the hand is the “referral area” for the foot.

Reflexology promotes deep relaxation, which may help to improve sleep and ease tension leading up to a sporting event. Stress and tension tightens the cardiovascular system and restricts blood flow, causing it to become sluggish. This results in the tissues becoming oxygen-deprived; the energy in the body becomes depleted, making all body systems suffer. By stimulating the nerve endings on the feet this can keep the body’s circulation flowing smoothly, which rejuvenates tired tissues. For highly competitive sports it is best to have reflexology two or three days before an event…as staying psyched up requires adrenalin and a certain amount of tension.

Reflexology encourages your body to achieve homeostasis, helping to better address the symptoms you are experiencing.

Reflexology is completely natural, having no harmful side effects, and so will not exacerbate the issue.

Reflexology sessions can be easily incorporated into your fitness routine, and a reflexologist can demonstrate self-help techniques to try at home or at a sporting event, to help speed up the recovery process from strain or pain. Helping to enhance your physical and emotional wellbeing and overall performance.

Examples of Sports Injuries
  • Sprains and Strains affecting Muscles and Ligaments (Common places Knees, Ankles, Wrists and Thumbs)

for your baby

Baby Reflex Classes (£ 30: 4 week course)

Baby reflex is a specially designed reflexology technique, which parents can use to give a calming reflexology treatment to their own child. Baby Reflex offers parents the benefits of a safe, gentle and natural therapy that they can apply to their children at anytime and anywhere; in a cafe, on a bus, or even in a supermarket queue!
Baby Reflex was founded by Jenny Lee, a chartered physiotherapist and Reflexologist who spent a number of years researching the effects of reflexology on childhood asthma. The results were so impressive that she developed Baby Reflex so that parents were able to learn some reflexology techniques to support their own baby’s health.

Why choose Baby Reflex
Baby Reflex has been shown to aid the wellbeing of babies, support with sleep, enhance the bonding between child and parents which is now considered to be essential to early child development and to calm and relax babies.

Unlike baby massage, you can use Baby Reflex wherever you are – in the supermarket queue, at bedtime, waiting at the school gates – whenever the child needs soothing!

No creams or oils needed and it only takes 5 minutes.

It is empowering for parents to be able to support their children and see them calm, content and asleep!

The technique is simple and quick to learn and is available for use by parents for a lifetime.

And children absolutely love it!

About the course

The courses take the form of four 1 hour sessions.

The Baby Reflex techniques are taught in simple, themed routines so that parents can easily remember and use the routines as and when they need to.

The themed routines include:

  • feeding and digestion
  • sleeping and calming
  • teething and wellbeing

Our classes are relaxed and completely baby-led. Routines only take approximately 5 minutes, but classes last around an hour so there is plenty of time for all the parents to learn and practise the routines even if their baby needs feeding or time to settle.

Baby Reflex is for children who are 4 weeks – toddling

One to one private classes are also available.

In addition, if you would like to host a Baby Reflex course for you and your friends please get in touch. There will be a discount available for the host and the cost will vary depending on the number of attendees.

Cancellation policy
Although I do not usually charge for cancellations, my practice is my livelihood and so I respectfully ask that you give me a minimum of 48 hours notices of cancellation (other than in cases of genuine emergency) so that I can offer the session to someone who may be waiting. Otherwise 50% payment will need to be made. Thank you for your understanding.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM A TREATMENT
Initially, when you attend for a reflexology session you will complete a confidential medical and lifestyle questionnaire. I will discuss the information with you, finding out what you want to get out of the reflexology sessions, and to ensure that if you do have any medical conditions that you are not contraindicated for reflexology.

The second part of the session involves a 60 minute reflexology treatment on either the feet, hands or ears.

If you are having foot reflexology you will be asked to remove your shoes and socks. If you are having hand reflexology I will ask you to remove any watches or bracelets before starting the treatment. For ear reflexology, I will use a gentle cleansing wipe to wipe over the ear area. Please note there is no need to clean your ears!

The reflexologist will then use relaxation techniques on your feet or hands, before applying pressure to stimulate or soothe reflex points, which may help to restore free flow of energy to the whole body. There may be some discomfort during the treatment, but generally the experience should be relaxing. You may also be given aftercare advice at the end of the session and a course of treatments may be recommended.

At the end of the session you will be given some after care advice and options for further sessions can be discussed.

Please allow up to 90 minutes for this initial session

It is always useful to give the reflexologist as much feedback as possible, during and after treatment, so that they can keep the treatment plan tailored to your needs.

FOLLOW-UP SESSIONS
Following on from your first session, I will put together a treatment plan specifically personalised for you, and each session will last 30-60 minutes (depending on your availability).

It is always useful to give the reflexologist as much feedback as possible, during and after treatment, so that they can keep the treatment plan tailored to your needs.
